We now offer you the opportunity to choose a Velscope Oral Cancer Screening. This instrument which acts like a flashlight,uses a special light which illuminates abnormalities that the unaided eye cannot detect. It takes just a few minutes and nothing enters your mouth. It is just like a flashlight but we can detect lesions that could be abnormal and/or pre-cancerous. This was recently featured on the "Doctor Oz Show" please see link below!

 

Our fee for this service is $45.00 and may be covered by NE Delta insurance. You can opt for this Velscope screening once a year at your hygiene visit or for new patients, at your initial comprehensive exam with Dr. Santana.

 

Especially if you could be at risk for oral cancer [history of smoking, use of chewing tobacco or exposure to human papilloma virus, (HPV)] we urge you to choose the Velscope oral cancer screening.
